Finding God’s Purpose in the Midst of Pain

Purpose is something that every person searches for in their life. With busy schedules, relationships, families, and friends it can become so easy to get stuck in an endless loop of comfortable contentment. But with all our passion and purpose being placed in things that can disappoint us when our “purpose” is falling apart so are we. When our job is no longer enjoyable or the relationship is not working out it seems that our entire purpose is crumbling. It is natural to want to remain in what feels comfortable and it is much easier to make our decision on what we can see or what we can control. I want to give you a new perspective to purpose. A purpose that you walk out each and every day, not your purpose but God’s purpose.

A purpose in one’s life is something that people feel can never be achieved. Finding purpose becomes more difficult when the enemy continues to send attacks that ultimately lead to pain. So how do you find God’s purpose in the midst pain? Being a Christian many believe that by just being a Christian it simply means nothing bad will ever happen and life will give you nothing but blessings. But when reality hits our faith is brought to a halt. It feels like we can never catch a break with pain continuing to present in our lives. We serve an almighty God our struggles in life won’t magically disappear. I want to encourage you and tell you that the level of anointing on your life is compared to the level of attack the enemy sends you. You are anointed by a King and the enemy knows it and wants to stop you from receiving all that God can offer you. God did not promise you a perfect life He promised to give you the perseverance to overcome it.

The Lord Himself goes before you and will be with you, He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged. -Deuteronomy 31:8

Just because God is silent doesn’t mean he is absent from your life. He is always there right beside you in the moments of pain and in the moments of joy. We are not in control of what comes to us we are only in control of what comes through us. But God cant heal what He can’t see and if we lock up our pain and hide it away from God  He cannot transform that pain into His calling for us. God is almighty and the One who creates miracles and honoring Him as such we can receive all the treasures He wants to give us. So even if your miracle doesn’t happen today, even if your mountains don’t move, even if your pain remains, God stands steadfast and firm throughout time. Pray to Him as the one who is able to create miracles, heal the sick, give the blind their sight, and make the lame man walk again. He will carry you through this all you need is the faith as small as a mustard seed.

In the moments of confusion or loss of focus from our purpose, we forget all of the good things in life we have learned. We forget exactly where our focus should lie and what our purpose points to. Our purpose on this early is to shine God’s light for all to see. It is His purpose we are fulfilling not our own and once we realize this the weight and the searching for this big “thing” in life is over. Finding your purpose through pain will look different from everyone else because pain affects every person differently. Every day remind yourself of God’s grace and glory and the purpose He calls in your life. Declare these words over your life and believe them possible.

Today I choose to follow your purpose, Lord. I know you will never give me more than I can handle. I know that I am not alone because you are silently beside me through the pain and the plan. You will never leave me. Never forsake me. I am chosen. A child of The One True King. I am not a slave to pain. I am a new creation. I am a citizen of heaven. For I know that the pain I am feeling now is nothing compared to the glory that is to come.
